PC not recognizing Fenix5 as mass storage

Hi - I'm trying to update my Fenix5 software using Garmin Express, but my PC has stopped recognizing my watch as a Mass Storage device. It will recharge, but won't recognize it, so Garmin Express can't "find" it when it searches for a device. Can anyone help?

Thank you. I have tried all that. My PC used to recognize my fenix5, and then stopped. Is it a problem with the drives on my laptop perhaps? I am using the cable that came with my fenix5 watch.

The problem is it could be numerous issues. A USB port issue. A cable issue. A faulty device. Since it charges but doesn't recognise it are you sure it's the original cable and not a USB power cable, rather than a USB data cable?
