Garmin Express 6.9.1 isn't finding Forerunner 305

Earlier versions of Garmin Express worked fine. The latest update doesn't find my device.
  • Remove your device from Express then re-add it. That normally resolves issues after an update.

    Same problem for me, and neither removal nor reinstallation makes any difference. Training Center syncs fine, but with Express, the 305 says 'Transfer complete' but nothing appears in the 'FitnessHistory' folder and Express eventually times out saying 'There was an error syncing ...' (which _really_ doesnt describe enough detail arrgh).
    Everything was fine on 4th October !
  • Doesn't help. And I can't use older versions because they force update to the latest one. Looking on the Internet, it seems many people are hitting this.
  • Latest version is 6.10. Update then try again.
  • Well, the latest version finds the watch, so that's good. But I'm getting the sync error now "There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect". I see there is another active thread on that problem.
