Error trying to update CN 2019.20 on Computer

I'm trying to update to the new Map Version 2019.20 in my PC. I successfully updated the Map on my Device (Drive5) but I want the PC installed version also (CN 2019.10) to use it with Basecamp. I tried the update on two different PCs (Windows 10, Spring 2018 Release) with no success. It's always the same:
The Update starts (see first Screenshot) and downloads some files, then the progress bar "hangs" while the is some heavy network traffic and after a timeout of a few minutes I get an error message (see second screenshot)
I had no problem updating the last version 2019.10 on my PC.
Of course I'm using the newest GE-Version and I have enough disk space.
So what's going wrong? Any help? ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1404192.png ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1404193.png
  • Try going to C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Downloads\Map and deleting the files there. It's possible that with the various failed attempts a partial file is preventing a clean install. Once you've done so try again.
  • Same problem here. Update on 390 is ok, but fails multiple times on a WIN7 and Win10 PC. Deleleting of the download folder doesn't fixed this problem.

    Kind regards
    Rainer
  • Sorry but when you say same problem just confirm that is trying to install the map to your PC? When it fails what error message do you get?
  • Yes at Thuesday I tried to install 2019.20 on my PC (WIN7) and on 390. It fails, Map was on the 390 but not on the PC. Yesterday I try it again on WIN10 and Win7 PC without success.
This morning I reinstall GE and try it 2 times with reboot and deleteing download folder between.
Log files with both tries attached . Error message same as in first post.
  • Since it's failing on 2 PCs it may be an account issue, if so you'll need to contact Product Support for help.
  • Deleting files C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Downloads\Map didn't help also. Strange thing.
Think the problem is caused by an error in the update process itself. Maybe it's country specific and depends on the Garmin server that's been connected

Same problem here.Acer laptop running Win10. Install fine on Nuvi device but fails on laptop. Deleting \CoreService\Downlods\Map\Map_Map.EU.2019.20 does not help.
Interestingly the \Downloads\Map folder has large files for all of my previous map updates since 2017. I guess they are no longer required and can be permanently deleted.

    Action required by Garmin please?
