Problem installing V6.8.1

I came here to inform people that I just received an update Garmin express to the newest version 6.8.1.0 install with no problem but then he gave me a box after the restart that gave me multiple choices either to close send a report or reopen. A course I picked send a report then reopen it continue to give me the same box over and over so my suggestion is not to do the update to 6.8.1.0 version so I had to reinstall my 6.7.1.0 version so I could have functionality Garmin express.

    That's great sussamb, but my experience on the site is that there's going to be more problems with others users with this new update.

  • Others on other forums have installed it without issue too. I suggest you try a complete uninstall then reinstall. Out of interest which windows version are you using?

    I am having similar problems. I cannot update Garmin Express from the wersion I was using under Vista to one which will work under Windows 10. My curent version, 4.1.28.0, tells me that it cannot find my device. When I try to update to the offered version 6.5.1.0, the download always fails at about 80%, I have tried over 10 times.
    What can I do now?
  • Update directly from the Express website having uninstalled the (very) old version you have.

    I also have a similar problem. On the latest version 6.8.1.0, I can open Garmin Express, but it will not detect my 645 Music when I connect. If I open Garmin express while the watch is already connected, I immediately get "Garmin Express quit unexpectedly. You can reopen the application or help prevent future crashes by sending us an anonymous crash report." I have the option to close, report, or reopen. Reopening results in an immediate crash again.

    My computer is detecting my device since I can see it in the "This PC" screen. I've also tried uninstalling Garmin Express and reinstalling. I tried restarting both the watch and my PC.

    Does anyone know how to download an older version of Garmin Express?

    I've just purchased a Garmin product and can't install the Garmin Express software.

    I get the 'Installed Failed. Garmin Express could not be installed on this computer. Try installing again.' message

    Nothing I've done so far has worked. I run in administrator mode and it still doesn't install. I've disabled virus scanner and firewall and still nothing. This is first time I've installed any Garmin software so there is no existing installation I need to uninstall.

    I'm using Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

    I'm also trying to find the support phone number but I live in the UK. Every link I've found just takes me to the main support page https://support.garmin.com/en-GB/

    Does anyone have any better instructions on how to install this or the contacts page for UK number?

    It seem every forum post on here about installation issues always up in in a 'Contact technical support' response.

    Is there a page where I can download older versions of the Garmin installer to see if an older version will install properly.

    I've never had any issues installing other software on my PC.
