I decided to update the maps on my Garmin Camper 660. The device's software was updated to V - 4.00 (confirmed by looking on the 660) and 2019.10 Full Coverage of Europe was installed on the 660. An error was reported - "There was an error installing the update".
Under 'Installation Options', I selected 'Computer and Device'. But the maps did not appear on my computer (W7 Pro 64-bit). Investigating, I found that GE was at V - 6.5.1.0 on that computer and V - 6.6.0.0 on this computer. So within GE I attempted to update but it failed. In 'Control Panel ¦ uninstall', I attempted to uninstall, but GE reported, "Install Failed - Failed to uninstall. Free space on C: is 320GB.
After re-booting the computer the old GE would now uninstall and 6.6.0.0 is now installed, less all the details of all of my GPSrs. I then registered the 660 in GE, which reported that all was up to date. Wrong, the 2019.10 map is not on computer, so I did as above and in place of only couple of minutes, I can now see over two hours of download.
Is there a way to copy the updated map data from the 660, or any other Garmin GPSr, to a computer to save having to download the map data twice?
