Hi, i tried to connect my NUVi 52LM to my PC (Win 10), but for some reason the computer doesn't recognize it. The device is charging, so no problem from the cable, but i can't find it no the PC and therefor update it or add maps. I don't have a memory card and i tried resetting the device. Can you give me an advise?
I am having the same problem and i have tried the procedure in "support.garmin.com/.../ with no results. My PC doesn't recognise my 2597 LTM when I plug it in. The unit charges but it doesn't show up as a drive in the PC drop down list. There is a drive labeled "drive F" i don't know what that is but no NUVI drive...any help will be appreciated, we are leaving on a road trip and i really need the unit updated.
Turned out that I needed to update something called "net framework 3.5 ) on my computer. I found this out when I downloaded Garmin Express on an old laptop just to try and see if it would recognise the NUVI. As I was installing Express a popup said i needed Net Framework 3.5 or the app might not work. I did a google search , found the download and installed it. Everything worked as expected. I then went back to my original desktop , found and downloaded the net framework 3.5 and everything cleared up on that machine as well....
I have the same issue with a NUVI 3597 on a Dell 9560. My computer has 2 USB 3.0 ports, and will recognize my NUVI 3590 connected directly to the port, but not the 3597. After several years of calling Garmin and searching the web for a solution, I bought a USB 2.0 hub and connected it to the 3.0 port. The computer recognizes the 3597 when connected to the hub.
