I updated this GPS with new maps a few days ago. It also required new software. Garmin Express seemed to have a few hiccups and told me that the software install had failed. It did load the new maps and when I restarted the unit it indicated that it installed the new software. It worked OK on my desk and accepted a new route and all looked fine. I moved it to me motorhome and it started up OK but then froze at one of the screens. It was then non-responsive. I held the power button down for 6 sec or so and it shut down -- and then restarted immediately. The opening screen is as far as it gets. It finally got tired of hard shutdown/restarts and when blank -- maybe low battery. With power applied it goes back into the same cycle. I suspect it is "bricked" but would appreciate any ideas.
I doubt it's bricked but if the battery is low that could be the issue. Charge it then do a master reset, always advised if it doesn't work as expected after a software update. If that doesn't resolve it then call Product Support for detailed help.
