Garmin Express does not recognize SD card

I'm trying to install map updates to my Nuvi 550. I installed an 8GB micro SD card. Windows sees it just fine, but Garmin Express doesn't, so I can't install full maps. I have to select a region. Any ideas? I formatted it according to the FAQ.

Your 550 doesn't allow Express to install to the sd card. See this FAQ https://support.garmin.com/faqSearch/en-US/faq/content/b17m7lCO3R4UKUAt8x67J7

Do a Google search for "Garmin maps cloning method" and you will find a solution in a different forum.
