Fenix does not sync with Garmin Express 6.1.1.0

It seems that a few days ago Garmin Express was updated on my PC to version 6.1.1.0

When I connect my Fenix via USB and I start Garmin Express, I get the message "There was an error syncing your fenix. Please try again".

I have tried again and again, uninstalled and re-installed Garmin Express, tried it on my laptop with version 6.1.1.0, nothing works.

In Basecamp I can see the Fenix and the data on it. Also in Windows Explorer the device is present. Running Windows 10 .

Before the update to 6.1.1.0 never had issues with syncing (synced successfully last week before the update)

What can I do to sync my fenix?

    Hi All,
    Same issue for me with Fenix 2, tried to sync on two different PCs without success, all went wront since the last update to 6.1.1.0 done on the 13th of feb. Various "consent" option combination does not change anything. Note that the ephemeris file for GPS sat potition is well updated (from server to the watch), which at least confirm that Garmin Express can connect to the server, but do not upload any info.
    No answer so far from the french support.

  • Hi. I've had the same problem for the last couple of weeks. I'm using MacOS HighSierra 10.13.3.I solved it by doing two things

    1) upgrading to 6.1.2.0
    2) Installed newest version of the Garmin Connect app on my smartphone. Upon opening the app it asked me Consent to uploading.

    I believe number two is the one that fixed the problem.

    I second mrtoem's point - i.e. it also worked for me (after hours of trying many other things). Use the Garmin App on your phone to "change/update" your data upload consent - go to settings, profile/privacy, data, and upload data - then grant access to upload data. Once its saved you restart express on your Mac/PC and sync seems to work again!
  • My wife's vivosport no longer syncs with GE in Mac OS (since 16/02). Latest versions installed. "We are unable to connect to our servers. Please try updating your consent preference later". And she has a Windows Phone, where the Garmin Connect App is useless, because even the Bluetooth connection is impossible to establish. How frustrated can you get?!

    Thank you wichmannl, that worked. After 2 weeks with garmin support this should have been easy for them to tell!

    Thanks mrtoem and wichmannl, that solved the problem.
    Garmin support were completely useless in this case. Switch from Mac OS to Windows was their official response. What a joke.
  • Garmin Express on PC was updated to version 6.2.0.0 today and syncing of my Fenix works again.
