Fenix does not sync with Garmin Express 6.1.1.0

It seems that a few days ago Garmin Express was updated on my PC to version 6.1.1.0

When I connect my Fenix via USB and I start Garmin Express, I get the message "There was an error syncing your fenix. Please try again".

I have tried again and again, uninstalled and re-installed Garmin Express, tried it on my laptop with version 6.1.1.0, nothing works.

In Basecamp I can see the Fenix and the data on it. Also in Windows Explorer the device is present. Running Windows 10 .

Before the update to 6.1.1.0 never had issues with syncing (synced successfully last week before the update)

What can I do to sync my fenix?

Thanks,
Dennis

Same here with Garmin 910 over USB since 6.1.1.0, really frustraing If I click on Tools & Content I get more info. It says in orange "Click this banner to select your data sharing preference" and when I do I am led to the Privacy tab where there is an orange error in Connect Data Upload: Please select your consent preference to upload activity data, settings updates and personal health data to Garmin"... but when I click that I get the same Server unavailable.... is it the same you see?

I have been in contact with garmin support but so far no help, even sent them a log file from express they are (hopefully) looking at now.. I have uninstalled completely according to garmin guide several times and there first response was that it was my network... even though I can login and change other settings in express! But it seems it is stuck on this consent and since express does not have it, it cannot upload the consent... I even tried to create a new account in garmin express to see if it was something with my account but get the same with a new account. Btw mine is on a mac.a

Please write here if you or anyone else get a fix, I will do the same if I here from Garmin support.

    Thanks,

    Troels
  • I have experienced the exact same thing. Tried disabling firewall to no avail. Really annoying!
  • I contacted Garmin Support (Netherlands) and got an email today saying that this is a know problem and there will be an update for Garmin Express soon.

Hi, I got an update to 6.1.2.0 but it still does not work. Could you try and ask you dutch support if that was supposed to fix it or just another random update that happen to come first (if it still does not work for you)?
  • @ TroelsRiis #5: I'll try to sync tonight and see what happens...(A good incent to force me to do some running and see if the Activity is uploaded :-)
  • My Garmin Express does not update to v6.1.2.0....It says it's up to date when I check for updates...

Oh well, did not work.. Anyway you don't need a workout to see if it works, just go to Privacy and see if you can use the missing consent link.. ;-)

I'm having the same issue guys, "We are unable to connect to our servers. Please try updating your consent preference later", every time I try to sync my 910XT.
I'm running the latest version of GE on latest version of Mac OS.
Contacted Garmin Iberian support, the latest suggestion I got was running Windows... Not really happy with answer.
It seems to be an issue in Europe because of the data consent option.
  • I am not sure if the "consent option" has to do with this. I gave consent to upload my data in Garmin Express 6.1.1.0 in the "Privacy setting"

Uploading new activities using the mobile app on my iPhone works btw...
  • I had been unable to Sync Fenix 2 through Garmin Express 6.1.1.0 on PC for the last few days. Had been able to sync via Bluetooth on mobile. Today sync worked on PC. Since having trouble syncing all running or cycling activities have gone into Garmin Connect as Other for activity. Run cadence graph not appearing in Garmin Connect. Any ideas why activity not coming through properly and why run cadence info is missing?
