Every time I connect my Edge Explore 1000 via USB and start Garmin Express, it syncs ok and then puts up the message in the title above when checking for updates. This has been happening for about the past week. When I look at Garmin Connect the rides are being uploaded ok, I just don't know if there are any map or firmware updates. So far I have tried:

1. Shutting down GE, deleting everything under C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Devices, starting GE again. Problem persists.

2. Uninstalling and reinstalling GE. Problem persists.

What can I do to fix this? OS is Windows 10 x64, GE is currently v5.9.0.0.

I've been having this problem for a while now (around a week?), different device (Forerunner 935), but the same error. That FAQ page at the minute is blank too, I went there before trawling the forums. The FAQ page just has the word "Support" and no other text.... Helpful. SUSSAMB, could you summarise what used to be there? I guess it was something more useful?
  • Works for me. Given it doesn't for you I suspect something is blocking it at your end. Check things like ad blockers, firewalls, browser settings etc. The FAQ is quite long so impossible for me to summarise.
  • I surprisingly witnessed the same - and for the first time ever - earlier today.

However, I did spot something funny elsewhere: loads of Bits-Client / EventID: 16398 in System log (via Event Viewer).

A new BITS job could not be created. The current job count for the user PC\username (60) is equal to or greater than the job limit (60) specified through group policy. To correct the problem, complete or cancel the BITS jobs that haven't made progress by looking at the error, and restart the BITS service. If this error recurs, contact your system administrator and increate the per-user and per-computer Group Policy job limits.

Quick check and I managed to narrow the culprit down:

It looks like latest version of Intel Driver & Support Assistant is not kosher.

So perhaps look for something similar on your side?
