Garmin Express 5.6.2.0 sync to 310XT

Ok so a while ago i gave up on Garmin express and used Ant agent- that was fine until.
I need to download course to my 310XT , great Garmin Connect can do that but it uses Garmin Express.
I loaded Garmin express and paired etc
Garmin express shows 5 updates available see attached,
but these do not get transferred as seen by the sync error ..
I tried deleting all the updates available and using send to device form the course menu but no difference still a sync error
So I still cant send the course and I may as well go back to ant agent.
What a pain

Make sure that Garmin Express has your Garmin Connect account credentials (login and password).

Make sure that Garmin Express has your Garmin Connect account credentials (login and password).

Clicking the Garmin Connect Icon opens Garmin Connect no problem.
Is there not an error log somewhere that could shed more light?

UPDATE
The gpx I had did not include elevation. All sorted now Sorry..
