I connected my Garmin nuvi 2599LMT HD to my laptop running Windows 10. It told me there were critical updates. I said yes to updating. I had Garmin Express v 4.1.6.0 on my computer. The older version of Garmin Express was deleted & the newer would not install. I found the Garmin Express icon on my computer, clicked on it and it said that Garmin Express was all ready installed. Click Launch the application. I did, nothing happened. I went to the Control panel & found an entry Garmin Express v 5.3.1.0 so decided to uninstall & then re-install the newest version. The version in my control panel will not let me uninstall, only install.
I have disabled my firewall & antivirus to see if that works & it does not.
The error I get is: Could not write GarminExpressTrayApp to key /software/Microsoft/windows/currentversion/run Verify you have sufficient access to that key (see pic)
