Garmin Express error elevated installer not found.

(I typed a lot more info than this but the website is returning a coding error and I reduced my message until it would post.)

I am on a PC using Windows 10. There is no Garmin software present on my computer at present because I uninstalled it trying to fix this issue. I have used the Microsoft fix tool and there is nothing left to remove.

I have had no joy at all, the error returns every attempt I make to install Garmin Express. (image included of the error)

I would really appreciate some help here I am trying to change my Fenix 3 setup for workouts and I cannot do it without Garmin express.

Thank you in advance.

I followed the linked post as it seemed the closest to the issue I am having. (tried to include link but wasn't able to) The post was called "Issue with installing Garmin Express after upgrading to Windows 10"ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1228829.jpg
  • Couple of things that spring to mind:

Did you also delete GARMIN folder under C:\ProgramData before re-installation took place?

Is there a GarminExpress log file created during installation in C:\Windows\Temp? If so, what does it say in there - look for error notifications?

Otherwise than that you will need to speak to Support I'm afraid.

Krzemien thank you for your reply, I checked for that folder and it was there, gone now. The error I cam receiving is that is cannot find the path to ElevatedInstallerInstaller.msi - C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\{6637E1C6-0A9D-48D4-B594-35610962F14F}v5.1.1.0\

And the address above is auto populated in the installer search box but doesn't exist. I really don't understand why I am suddenly having problems, even if I could just start fresh that would be great but at the moment I cannot do anything.

I also checked the temp folder but in there is many randomly named folders and I don't really know what I am looking for.

I think I have found the file you were talking about using the date edited, this was the only file in that folder in text format which had been edited this morning when I tried to install again.

I've just realised that in my early morning blindness Avira is my antivirus but I don't understand why this file exists if it has nothing to do with the problem. Could it been my antivirus is the issue?

Thank you Krzemien, something between what you said first and your last post fix/repaired the issue and I was able to install the Garmin software.
