Every time I plug in my Garmin Edge Touring in tells me I have new updates (the same updates each time) inc new map files. I have uploaded the and installed the new files - but have to do it again every time I plug in. There is no option to choose NOT to install the updates and if I manually try to sync I get a message saying there is nothing new to sync - bu there is. So every week I have to wait over 2 hours to reinstall new map files before I can sync device and access my ride data. Help - please - its driving me nuts. Used to work Ok but seems to be since switching to windows 10 on PC - which was ages ago! But finally lost patience!
Close Express and Express Tray.
Connect your device to your computer.
Browse to the Garmin folder on it and delete the file GarminDevice.xml
Disconnect your device
Power off your device
Power it on again. (it will rebuild GarminDevice.xml)
Open Express
Connect your device. It should now be happy.
I tried the recipe (deleting the file GarminDevice.xml).
Indeed de Garmin creates it again when power cycled.
Express still is not happy. It keeps nagging there is a map update available.
