Software Update not Recognised

Good Morning,
I've just bought a Vivoactive HR, and am generally very impressed. However, it is running version 3.40, and I believe the latest is 4.40 (addressing issues such as floor count inaccuracy). Garmin Express connects OK to the device, but simply says that I'm up to date and running 3.40, consequently not allowing me to upgrade to the later versions.

Has anybody else encountered this problem, and is there a known fix.
