Roll back to a previous version?

Hi Guys,

Is it possible to roll back to a previous version of Express? My reason (process of elimination).

Last week while running my 920xt watch was buzzing with a low battery message.... Normally i would walk through the door and the workout has already uploaded, because of the low battery, Garmin stops this from happening.

I plugged my watch into the PC and prior to the workout uploading i was prompted to update GE (so i did) to version 5.3.1.0

The workout uploaded and that was that....

The following night after swimming, again my watch didn't sync and so i connected via the USB and uploaded without thinking to much about it..

This has now happened numerous times after workouts, until i investigated what was happening, Express now doesn't see my wifi, so I have now carried out the following.

Deleted original wifi that was stored and tried to re-add, GE states no wifi found???
Deleted all activities from the watch.
Deleted log text in mass storage mode (had low battery errors stored).
Deleted watch from express and re-added.
Checked that bin file is located in wifi folder.
Carry out factory reset on watch.

Is this a coincidence or is there an issue with the latest version of GE?

I was thinking of rolling back the version of GE to the previous level, hoping this would cure the problem.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I am sorry that you are having trouble with your 920XT. Garmin Express gets the WiFi information from the watch not the other way around. If the device stopped uploading and is no longer finding your WiFi network, it sounds like something changed with the WiFi network or some kind of issue with the watch. If you can try connecting to a different WiFi network, it will confirm or rule out the first. If you can't connect to any network or don't have any other networks to test with, I would recommend contacting Product Support to troubleshoot.

  • What is the process to set up a wifi hotspot (phone)?

    Cheers
  • I have tried to add a manual wifi link in express using my phone details but this still isn't visible in Express or in my phone hotspot devices?

I save my phone name, password and WPA2, restart express and these details aren't saved?

    Anybody?

Did you try what I wrote on 920xt thread?. I think it's a good idea too creating an open network on phone to test connection. There is a system mode that checks hardware: (found on this thread-> Best way to quickly check the device)
"Go in service mode: first power off > press and hold the 3dot button while pressing power on
    Check" WIfi
  • I've found the system test within the service mode, but up button is pressed screen says wifi test started..... But thats it...nothing else happens? What do I press or what is supposed to happen?

    Wifi test STARTING
    Data rate 1Mhz
    Channel 1

That is it, I have serched the forum but cannot find the answers.
  • Really don't know, I can not get my watch into system mode. Did you try reinstalling GE from 0?
  • No, I've deleted the watch and reinstalled it, and carried out a factory reset on the watch..

It could be best to start from the simple things: "Hi, try to delete GE and all files on PC. Then download and install the program. Add device, configure and see if it fixes the problem. Regards. "
