Garmin NUVI 2568 (secondhand) NEED HELP

Hi and hope someone can help me.

I've purchased a secondhand NUVI 2568 with lifetime maps.

I have installed Garmin Express (latest version) and have used it to install all the devices updates.

My problem is the Map Update.

1. When I start Garmin Express and my device is connected I get the device select screen (no problem).

2. Select my connected device and am prompted that I have a Map Update Available (Estimated Install Time 60 minutes).

3. I view details:
Western Europe
Version: 2017.30 (presently installed is City Navigator Europe NTU 2014.1)
File Size: 4.21 GB
Installation Time: 60 minutes
* Updates map data

4. I've tried pressing the INSTALL without pressing the View Details.
5. I've tried pressing View Details then Installation Options.
a. Selected Device Only and pressed Install.
b. Selected Computer and Device and pressed Install.

ALL 3 OF THESE INSTALL METHODS COME UP WITH THE SAME RESULT.

This may take a minute..

It never starts the download, the circular indicator just goes round and round.

I've even left this overnight and awoke to the same circular indicator just going round and round :(



6. I've also Selected Computer Only and pressed Install.
Install Path - C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps\

DOWNLOADS THE UPDATE TO THE ABOVE PATH NO PROBLEM.



Anyone know what I need to do to update the internal 2014.1 to 2017.30



My NUVI 2497 updated its maps no problem using Garmin Express and now has:
CN Europe NTU 2017.30 ALL South
CN Europe NTU 2017.30 ALL North
  • Could be various issues. How much free space is on the device?

    However it doesn't warn me about not having enough space as it states in the help section.


    I was able to update my NUVI 2497 yesterday with no problems, but cannot get any joy out of the NUVI 2568.
  • That should be ample space. You may need to call Garmin Support if you've checked everything in the FAQ. As it's a second hand device there may be an account issue, you may have fallen foul of this statement in the Terms and Conditions for lifetime maps:

    A product will be deemed to be out of service and its useful life to be ended if no updates have been downloaded for such product for a period of 24 months or more

    Thanks for the help, will try contacting Garmin.

    Not so sure about the 24 months though, as I also decided to see if I could update my NUVI 8 Series which had CN Lower 49 States 2010 and it updated to CN Lower 49 States 2018.10
