Stuck on Preparing Device for Software Update

Hi,

I am trying to update my Driveluxe 50 via Garmin Express on Windows 10.

It has been stuck for over an hour on Preparing Device for Software Update even though it say "may take a minute".

1) Is this normal?

2) Can I disconnect the device at this stage without taking the risk that the device will not work?

3) Any ideas on how to resolve the issue?

Disconnect it. Then switch it from mtp to mass storage mode, Win10 often doesn't work properly with mtp mode. Then try again. To switch to mass storage mode:

1. Bring up the volume screen on the GPS.

2. On the upper right hand corner. Press your finger on screen and hold for appx 10 seconds.

3. Shortly you will see the developers screen.

4. Find MTP Settings and touch it.

5. It will show 3 selections. MTP Auto Detect,Mass Storage and Mass Storage Single Session.

6. Touch Mass Storage as your selection.

7. Select save.
