Garmin Express 5.2.0 does not detect device

I'm on Windows 7 Pro and Garmin Express (latest update 5.2.0.0, released 1.9.2017) Does not recognize my device. Windows detects the device correctly under USB connections, however Garmin Express does not.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

Thanks, but it doesn't really help me.

Windows recognizes my device correctly (Fenix 3HR), Garmin Express is the latest release, I am using original Garmin cradle/USB. According to the FAQ, "The Garmin device should now be communicating properly with the Garmin application."

However, it does not.

The release date looks correct, but what version? The latest, as of today, is 5.2.0.0.

I have not experienced this issue. However, I have read some posts where uninstalling GE, restarting, then installing GE again fixed this. At least for some folks.

Thanks. I've been at it for nearly 3 hours. I've uninstalled, restarted computer, did a fresh install. didn't work. Uninstalled everything, including garmin device driver, restarted computer did a clean install of everything, didn't work.

I'm pretty much giving up.

You should also try deleting the device from Express and then re-adding it. If that doesn't help your best bet is to call Product Support

Thanks. I may have to call them. I have deleted the device as a first measure, however, since Express is not detecting the device, it never managed to add it back again.

Plug in the device
Navigate to it, delete the GarminDevice.xml file
Eject/unplug it
Shut down the watch
Start up the watch
Plug it in.

Now try GarminExpress
