Map download fails

Hi there,

I've bought a Zümo about 3 weeks ago with a central europe map built in. About 2 days ago, I decided to go for a full map of europe and purchased it. But I can't install the map with Garmin Express. It fails everytime at nearly 50% when downloading sayin "There was an error installing the content".

The size of the map is around 4gb. I have 5.5gb on my sd card 1,94gb on zümo itself and 6.5gb on my drive C:

I'm trying to do this on a gaming PC with an internet connection of 50Mbits. And I have the latest version of Garmin Express.

So, any ideas why it's not installing?

    Already done everything on this page. Except connecting to the internet with an ethernet cable. It's almost impossible since the modem is on the other side of the house and this is a huge desktop PC. I'll have to relocate the computer if I do this. But I don't think that the connection is the problem. I've got a perfect wireless reception and I can download with 5mb per second.
  • If the download has failed a few times you could have a partly downloaded mapset preventing a clean download, so try going to C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Downloads\Map and deleting the files there. Once you've done so try again.

    If that still fails try calling Product Support for help.

    It seems it worked. The map is installed on the device. But this time, I can't see the map on Basecamp or Garmin Express. On the device, the map works.
  • Without knowing exactly what you bought I can't be sure but this is normal in some cases, you can generally only install the pre-loaded map to your PC.

    Really? If that's the case, that really sucks.

    The map I bought is City Navigator® Europe NT with the PART NUMBER: 010-D0036-00

    And my Garmin is a Zümo 340LM

  • I suggest you call Product Support as that really is the wrong item for you. It is a one time purchase of the full EU map and is not updateable, nor can it be installed to your PC.

    You already have the Central EU map and really need to buy the EU lifetime update, that will allow you to install the full map to your device and PC and provide you with lifetime updates.
