Since the switch to updating safety cameras etc directly through Garmin Express (and not through a web browser) things seem to have gone OK. Until this weekend and a Software Update / Map Update.
Garmin Express downloaded a 'software update', safety camera info, and a new European map - ca 4GB of download - to my PC, albeit in many discrete 'chunks' rather then a smooth single download. However it never completed the remainder of the operation (transferring & installing to my Nuvi 2447LMT) - after over 6 hours it was still displaying "Step 2 - Preparing for Installation". Negligible activity was shown by Task Manager. BTW I am using an up-to-date copy of Windows 10 Pro.
I had no option but to disconnect - and thankfully the Nuvi is working, and is still showing safety cameras. However I have no way of knowing if it is using the new map, or if the safety cameras database has updated.
Any help greatly appreciated.
