Garmin Express: Recognises GPS on New Laptop, but not on Desktop PC

If it doesn't let us know which OS you're using and which device?

I've used Express for years, both on my laptop and desktop, on XP, Win 7 and now Win 10 without it ever failing to see my devices (all 5 of them) plus others when friends have asked me to update their devices.

I am using Windows 10 on both machines. It's weird because I have sent back two Garmin 500s (for refunds) and am now on my third
Garmin Edge Touring Plus (since Nov 2016); so the units weren't at fault, it was something (a dodgy file?) on my desktop computer that's
preventing Garmin Express from seeing the GPSs.

Have you tried the tips in the FAQ I linked to?

Clearly something is wrong within your PC. The alternative is to call Product Support

Result!. I came across some Garmin files, one called "Webupdater". I clicked onto it and it searched for my gps, identified it (serial number) and then updated some software on it. From there I relaunched Garmin Express; and hey presto! Garmin Express recognised it.
