nüvi 2595: error installing update with Garmin Express

I am trying to update the map on the registered nüvi 2595 to "City Navigator Europe NTU 2017.20" with the recommended tool Garmin Express.
The process runs to download the map data and the map stored in location "C:\ProgramData\GARMIN\Maps\City Navigator Europe NTU 2017.20.gmap".
Then the process stops with the error message "error installing update".
Checking the unit, it displays as map: "City Navigator Europe NTU 2017.10 -all" which was installed in September 2016.
Checking some of the Log-Files, I get the impression that some elements from Garmin are not picked up and the loading of the map data into the unit fails.
Any suggestions on how to correct this behavior or is this a problem to be solved by the Garmin team?
I am presently not attaching any Log-Files but this can be done once the correct/best Log-File is identified.

That error often occurs it seems if there is only a small amount of spare space on your device. Express attempts to install the map having downloaded it to the PC but fails.

I assume Express is up to date? If not try updating it then see what happens.

How much spare space is there on your device?
