ANT stick not showing as connected

Since one of windows updates was installed on my pc (one of those updates that install themselves without asking!!) I have trouble syncing my vivofit 2. After plugging in the ANT stick it says that it is not connected. The only way to resolve it is to delete Garmin Express completely from the pc and download it again. Then it works for a couple of times before I get the same message that the ANT stick is not connected. I have deleted and re-installed Express several times. Has anybody else had this problem? Does anybody have any ideas?
