Unable to connect PC to Zumo 345LM

I already have a Garmin Express account with a registered Nuvi 1440, this device receives regular map updates. I just bought a Zumo 345LM and after signing in to my account, I attempted to register the product, unfortunately no recognition by Garmin Express. I deleted the existing Express software and re-installed with the latest version 4.5.0.0 and I am only using genuine Garmin USB cable as supplied with the Zumo 345.

Unfortunately no recognition of the device but I did check the hidden device files on the PC and the 345 is visible but not on Garmin Expresss.

This seems to be a repeat of the experience with the Zumo 550 but with another PC, the new computer is a Dell running Windows 7. With the Zumo 550 I had to take it down to Garmin UK and it was returned after an hour but without any explanation, at least it was working.
