Within a couple months of getting my garmin GPS, it popped up with an error message, saying maps were corrupted and needed to be updated. Tried several times, but it kept throwing me an error message on the last step, saying it cannot complete the update. Now it's just stalling on the last step, with the time remaining sitting at 2hrs 16mins. Tried to go through garmin help, but all it says is to make sure I'm using hardliners Internet. But what happens if I don't have that option? All I have access to is WiFi and mobile Hotspot. Any way to fix this, or am I better off just to Chuck my brand new $200+ device and find something else?
Are you sure the message was that maps were corrupted? Or was it that they were out of date? Does your GPS work now or not? If its working the maps aren't corrupted.
It says "maps are corrupt and cannot be used. Go to www.garmin.com/express to download the latest maps." And it doesn't work, it just comes up with the little car on a gray background
Then you may need to find somewhere where you can connect via cable rather than a mobile connection since the Express requirements say it needs that and not to be used over dialup or mobile.
