So, trying to use Garmin Express to update my map, but now it's telling me i don't have enough space on my drive.
I installed Express to an HHD that has nearly 1TB of space but it seems to be trying to install it to my OS SSD!
How can i change this? The download is 13Gb in size and i have only 11Gb available on my OS drive........

PS: EDIT:: I tried using Garmins Mapupdater but it says that it can't install any maps as there are no previous versions on there?? I have a nuvi 3598LM with lifetime map updates.
  • If you look at the requirements for Express you need up to 13Gb on your c drive, so if you only have 11 that isn't sufficient. Can you move some data off temporarily?

Thank you for the reply.. But what i was hoping for is the option to use Express on a drive that isn't my OS drive, Pretty much every other piece of software i have installed on seperate drives, the only software i like on my C drive is the OS, is there no options to use a different drive?
  • Unfortunately not at the moment although I suspect/hope Garmin are looking at introducing that option in the future.

Garmin Express stores the data it downloads to Program Data\Garmin.
You can move its contents and its subfolders to a new folder in another partition, then replace it by a junction --named Garmin-- to the new folder on the other partition.
Base Camp and all other Garmin utilities will work w/o problems.
Use the mklink command in a windows command prompt.
