My aera 500 stopped giving voice directions, and I think it is because the firmware update I just applied. There is a problem as well with the voice language menu which is not popping up after touching the button with the selected language. It is weird that despite the voice files which are in the Voices directory (unless there are none) it is always American English-Jill the one which stays selected.
I tried to solve this voice issue by performing a master reset, which actually works every time I do it. The problem is that as soon as turn the device off and back on I end up with the same problem.
The other weird thing is yesterday I was testing the GPS on the street and I got a voice command when approaching a POI indicating to slow down.
I used the up-to-date versions of WebUpdater and GE for reinstalling the firmware, and tried as well to update the voice files with both applications. I tried deleting all the voice files along with the GarminDevice.xml file and I also tried deleting the mileage.csv file but nothing seems to work... I just ran out of options...
Any suggestions? Should I try to do a downgrade?
