Garmin FR 610 Not Finding Wifi Network

So i get an error every time i try to upload over wifi to my garmin connect. last successful connection was on 17th July 2016.

"connection failed. press connect key to try again".

i've went in to garmin express after manually connecting to my laptop (pc) and reset the wifi (deleted and put on again) network name and password and it still doesnt work.

Any advice or help?

    I am sorry that you are having trouble with the WiFi on your device. I am assuming that you are working with your ForeRunner 620 since the 610 does not have WiFi. Garmin Express actually get's all of the info about the wifi networks from the device and can't validate credentials when setting it up, so it is important to verify that the information is entered correctly. Keep in mind that Wi-Fi passwords and SSIDs are case-sensitive. You don't have to worry about the SSID if it is auto-populated; only if you are entering it manually.

    Also, make sure that Garmin Express and the watch firmware are up to date. To check for updates to Express follow the instructions here: https://support.garmin.com/faqSearch/en-US/faq/content/2Ylxu0yuGU9I49tAk7MGd6.

    If Express is up to date and you are sure that the credentials are entered correctly, that leaves the watch and the router as the possible cause. The easiest way to determine if there is some kind of problem with the watch is to try another network. If the watch will not connect to any network, please contact Product Support by phone. If the watch connects to another network but not yours, verify the network is set up correctly to work with the Garmin Device:
    • 2.4 GHz band
    • 802.11 B or G (N and AC are not supported, nor is 802.1x)
    • WEP / WPA / WPA2 security (WPA-Enterprise is not supported)
    • Channels 1-11 for North American devices, channels 1-13 for International devices


    If you are still having trouble, it would be best to contact Product Support for further troubleshooting.

    Hi,

    I've tried all this, and to me it looks like the device is not saving a wifi password.
    I make this assumption as when i go into GarminExpress, theres never a wifi password shown on the saved wifi connection.


    i made no changes to my watch or my wifi prior to it malfunctioning.

    ive sent an email to garmin support :(
