What are the names of these map files you mention? To remotely diagnose problems like this you need to be more specific. Need to know what folders they're in and where? What size are they? What dates are the files? What shows on your device when you look at the information in MapInfo?
It's hard to determine what the issue is with the generic error that you are receiving when you run the update. I would suggest trying to update the maps without the SD card in the device. The application will require you to choose a region which is okay for this test. If this works correctly, insert the SD card into the device and try the update again. If you continue to get an error at this point, follow the steps in this article: Issues downloading updates in Garmin Express
If this does not resolve the issue, please contact Product Support.
Hi, seems network access is ok, something with the drvic. Immanaged to delete another 100 MB on the internal disk, but it still says 95 pct full, a big MAP catalogue with 225 MB file from 2013 is there? name of file is D2485090A, but I am not sure ai can delete it. Right now I am downloading the 2017.10 to the hard drive seems to be working. I cannot get garmin express to recognize the 32 GB card, even after removing it. Application stops and th red bar with error message comes up first thing after clickingon install and cvepting the t... Any more ideas are highly appreciated. seems it gets stufk and aborts when the disk is full.
That file sounds to me like the .jcv file. Is it in the JCV folder? What is the file extension?
If it is an old jcv file it can be deleted.
If the map is installing to your hard drive okay it would seem your issue is the cable/usb port/device in which case as already suggested you may be better contacting Product Support for detailed help.
Funnily enough, I followed advice on rhis board and by down, oading the maps to local hard drive first, everything worked out fine. Still rhink I have a lot of unwanted data and old obsolete maps on rhe device, but I will save that for a later day. Many thanks!
