"there was an error syncing with Garmin Connect"

... is what Garmin Express PC is claiming when I try to get the activities off my Forerunner 910XT. Says the Ant stick is connected, but the FR doesn't do its usual transferring of data.

All I want is a local copy of my file... why does there need to be a connection between Express > Internet > Connect to get files off my device?

Extremely frustrated.

    I am sorry you are having trouble syncing your data with Garmin Express. We do have a couple of FAQs that can help you correct the errors:

    • ">Garmin Express displays a server error">Garmin Express displays a server error (Even though you are not getting a "server error", these steps apply to your issue.)

    Now, please try syncing your device again. Let us know if you still have trouble.
