City Navigator North America NOT WORKING Lisa please help

You don't say which device you have? However check in settings somewhere and see what map it shows as installed, and ensure its checked.

I have a Montana 650t.

After reading the previous post which Lisa has closed and my current post can you tell me if I deleted the correct files to remove the old "City Navigator North America NT" 2013.4 that Lisa suggested. I have checked and the new CNNA 2017.20 is enabled.

After I enter a new destination address and press GO I get a error saying:

Route Calculation Error:
Maps do not have routable roads in this area.

This is a good/real address........It appears to me the GPS can't find what it needs to calculate a route.

Here is the address if you want to try it.

I have gone to this address with the Montana already and it worked, before I delete the above listed files.

If the new map is enabled then all should be well. Have you tried manually zooming into the area of that address to see if the map exists there? One possible problem is that you've only downloaded part of the 2017.20 map.

Look in the Garmin folder of your Montana. What is the size of the largest gmap*.img file?

I've checked that address and it does exist in the full 2017.20 map.

Ensure too that no other map is checked, since having multiple maps selected that cover the same area can cause problems.

Could you please answer my first question?

As per Lisa (Garmin Express Customer Care) suggestion to save memory, I delete the old Version of "City Navigator American NT 2013.4" (CNANT)

I deleted from my SD card two files:

City Navigator North America NT 2013.4.img
ABunchOfNumbersAndLetters.gma (that had the same date as the above City Navigator file)

ABunchOfNumbersAndLetters I don't remember the exact numbers or letters.

Did I delete the correct files from the SD card to remove the old version of the map from the Montana 650t????????

Prior to the deletion of CNANT 2013.4 with CNANT 2017.2 installed and selected worked, I used it a couple times.

The largest and only ".img" file is on the SD card:

City Navigator North America NT 2017.2.img it is (2,706,048KB)

Prior to deleting "City Navigator North America NT 2013.4.img" was also on the SD card.

There are NO gmap*.img prefixed files

I deleted:

City Navigator North America NT 2013.4.img
ABunchOfNumbersAndLetters.gma (that had the same date as the above City Navigator file)

already and

City Navigator North America NT 2017.2.img
ABunchOfNumbersAndLetters.gma (that had the same date as the above City Navigator file)

is still installed on my SD card

Should I delete the CNNANT 2017.2.img or should I do MapInstall right over the existing CNNANT 2017.2.img

If you use MapInstall again it should overwrite the earlier map, but you can delete those files should you prefer to.

I used MapInstall and reinstalled "City Navigator North America NT 2017.2" WITHOUT deleting the existing one on the SD drive. This time it said there was not enough memory so I went in and tried to only install the lower 49 states. After it was done installing while I was testing it I notice there were some towns south of the border that appeared to be showing up. I don't know if I missed removing them from the install list or not????????

It seams to be working, although it seamed to have a problem finding Las Vegas........eventually after a number of tries it did. Did not give me a good feeling........I will have to take it out on the road and do some more testing.

Previously it worked but then when I got away from home it started not working........I hope that does not happen again.

Anyway for now it appears to be working.
