Garmin Express stuck on "This may take a minute"

Hello,

I'm trying to upload my data to my Garmin Profile on a new computer from my watch. Garmin Express recognizes my Forerunner 210, and then offers the options to either sign up for an account or login. Both options (I tried both to just see if there was a difference) get stuck on "This may take a minute." This will go on for hours if I let it.

It works on another computer, both computers being Windows 10, and both using Microsoft Edge internet browser. This is also a personal computer, so I don't have some corporate security in place. I have Microsoft Edge set to allow pop-up windows, if that helps. I've also turned off my anti-virus. I know others have had this issue, but I've never seen a forum thread with a solution.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I am sorry you are having trouble setting up your Forerunner 210 on a second computer. If it is stuck after trying to sign in, then some program/setting is interfering with the internet connection. I know you aren't getting a server error, but please try the steps in the FAQ, "">What should I do if I receive a server error while using Garmin Express?">What should I do if I receive a server error while using Garmin Express?" because it also applies to this issue.

Also, if you are using WiFi then please switch to a wired (ethernet) connection instead. WiFi setups will sometimes use extra security that can interfere with the connection to our servers.

Please try adding your device to the second computer now. Let us know if you have more trouble.

The other computer (the one that successfully connects to the Garmin Servers) is using the exact same wifi connection. And none of the possible issues noted in that FAQ are true for me (no proxy server, time/date is correct, etc.). I'm on a Surface Pro, so I don't even have an Ethernet jack. And I'm not going to buy an adapter just for Garmin Express. Also, the other computer is also a Surface Pro, and works with the same wifi connection.

I also tried disabling Windows Firewall altogether. Still no luck.

  • Hello. I have exactly the same problem. How can I solve. Thank you.

  • I have the same problem, unfortunately. My device is Forerunner 935. I just upgraded Garmin Express to the latest version (6.21.0.0) but this didn't help. Any tip how to proceed?

  • If the above doesn't help contact Product Support for help so they can troubleshoot your problem
