Garmin Express - "There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect."

About half the time it doesn't sync with my paired 910XT. Why did you replace the working Garmin ANT agent with this useless program? Fw 3.20 and GE ver. 4.1.21.0

Pretty self explanatory, not syncing, no upload of new activities from the watch.

No, what is explained by the error message is the symptom. If it were self explanatory, then what is the problem that caused it not to sync?

It's fine that there is a message that tells you it didn't sync, but where does that leave you? How do you know what to do about it if you don't know the problem?

I'm saying Garmin needs to be more specific as to the cause of the issue.

It is also a good idea to delete Activities from your Forerunner 910XT periodically after they have successfully uploaded. Clearing this data will help prevent the device from getting full and causing corrupt data.

If you know a full device will lead to problems, then why doesn't the device tell the user that some corrective action needs to take place, like deleting old activities? Why not head off the problem to begin with? You know a full device will cause corrupted files but you won't give the users a warning?

At minimum, the error syncing message should indicate that the device is full and this is what caused the problem.

I am happy to answer your question. The Forerunner 910XT does have a small warning on its screen once its memory is almost full. However, from experience with talking to other customers, this symbol is not very noticeable. Also, if you are doing a long activity then it might not have been close to full before the activity. So, it doesn't get the chance to warn you in this case. The next generation of this series (and some other series) has made this notification much clearer.

Let us know if you have more questions.
