Nuvi 2517 - Problem with new map

Hi there!

I wonder if anyone can help me out.

I have a Nuvi 2517LMT with City Navigator Europe NTU ( Central Europe ) and have purchased City Navigator® Europe NT. I have followed the steps and have downloaded the map to an SD card using the plugin etc with IE, but the map is not showing up on the map selection ( on the GPS itself ) nor does it appear on Garmin Express!

I've tried different cards and have downloaded the map several times! But still it doesn't show on the map selection.

Im desperate as I am departing in a 3.000km journey and can't seem to figure this out !

HELP ! :P

Are you sure you bought the map and not a map update? If you bought the NT update it won't update your NTU map.

In that case check the cards you're using are formatted FAT32? Also can you list what's been downloaded on the card, including the sizes of the files you can see?

The card is formatted in FAT32

I can't figure it out!? What am I missing? One card is a Sandisk 32Gb class 4 the other is a WhiteBranded 4gb Class 4 also and I've tried a Transcend 8gb class 6

None worked! The nuvi just doesn't detect any additional maps and the Garmin Express also doesn't detect anything...

This is really annoying!

Express won't detect any supplemental maps, just those initially installed. The file sizes you quote look correct for the full EU NT map.

I've never known someone with a NTU map download a full NT map before, so unsure how your nuvi will react. What would be worth trying is to rename the map on your nuvi and see what then happens. Look for gmapprom.img in the hidden .system folder. Rename it to gmapprom.bak

Now see if your nuvi detects the new map.
