Garmin server down?

Good day,

From today I cannot connect to Garmin Express anymore.
First it says " Re-authentication requred", I am trying to sign in and then "There was a problem connecting to Garmin Servers". The thing is that it recognize when I enter wrong password. I didn't change anything to any of the PC settings or internet. This started from today. I have the last version installed.
Thank you!

I am sorry you are being asked to "re-authenticate" your device in Garmin Express. Our servers are not down. Most likely, the file that stored your credentials somehow got corrupted. We can delete this file and then enter your username and password for Connect again. This should solve the issue and let you sync. Please try the following:
    • Make sure Garmin Express is closed.
    • Press the Windows key + "R".
    • Type %programdata%\garmin\coreservice and press "Enter".
    • Right-click on "device_data_store.xml".
    • Select to "Delete" the file and confirm you want to delete it.
    • Launch Garmin Express and either add your device (if you removed it) or enter its credentials again.

Now, you should be able to sync. Let us know if you still have trouble.

  • Did by the instructions and still no change.

If it helps I own a Fenix 3 with 7.0b. Is it any way to manually install 7.0 Public release? Maybe it helps.

I am sorry you are still being asked to authenticate your device. I have not heard of that software causing the issue you describe. It is probably something stuck in Garmin Express or your Connect account. I would recommend first trying to remove the device from Garmin Express and Connect using the FAQ, "">How do I delete a fitness device from Garmin Express?">How do I delete a fitness device from Garmin Express?" Then please add it back to Garmin Express and Connect.

If you still have trouble, please contact ">Product Support">Product Support for more detailed troubleshooting.

  • Still nothing. Removed the device from GE and even uninstalled and reinstalled GE.
Now it is recognizing the device but I cannot add it. It says "We're unable to add this device because our servers are unavailable at this time".

I tried from two different internet connections.
  • Then you'll need to do as Dave suggested and contact Product Support for detailed help. As a final attempt try the steps in this FAQ

  • Thank you for the reply. I will try your suggestions.
  • • Garmin Core Update Service is stopped/disabled
The Garmin Core Update Service is required for Garmin Express to function. The computer or a program may have disabled this service from running. If the service was stopped, it will need to be restarted:
    Windows Vista/7/8
Hold down the Control + Alt + Delete keys
    Click Start Task Manager
    Click the Services tab
Locate the Garmin Core Update Service
    Ensure the service is started
    Windows XP
Hold down the Windows key + R
    Type: services.msc
Locate the Garmin Core Update Service
    Ensure the service is started
Garmin Express should be able to look for available updates now.

Is this a solution? Now on Windows 10 I cannot find this service at all.
I found it on old threads.

EDIT: Can somebody please provide the ip address where garmin express connects so that I can trace it?

EDIT2 : It looks like two of my internet connections are not allowed by Garmin anymore. Now I got the third mobile connection and it works.
