I am sorry you are being asked to format your Fenix 3 HR. If you are being asked to format, it will normally be Windows asking you and not Garmin Express. This message can occur if the device is not communicating with the computer properly. Please try the steps in the FAQ, "">Why doesn't my computer detect my device when it's in USB Mass Storage Mode?">Why doesn't my computer detect my device when it's in USB Mass Storage Mode?"

The device should now be able to connect with the computer and be detected as a drive. Let us know if you still have trouble.

    thanks Dave
I tried all that. It used to work on computer(windows 7), until I connected ant stiick and did vivofit input. Stilll doesnt work.

It is possible that you may still be able to run a check disk on the device. You can find instructions in the FAQ How do I run a check disk or disk utility on my Garmin mass storage device?

If this does not correct the problem, it would be best to contact Product Support by phone.

Says type of disk is RAW chkdsk not available for raw drives
  • TOMNELSON2

I am sorry you still have trouble with your Fenix 3 HR. If you ran a "chkdsk" on the drive and it said it is "RAW", then there is a problem with the physical memory on the device and not the software. Unfortunately, this means the device needs to be replaced. Please contact ">Product Support">Product Support and have them set up an exchange order for this device.

Once the device is replaced, it should work as intended.

  • If the F3 is like most other Garmin devices it should be FAT32 and not NTFS.
