Garmin Express 4.1.19.0 installer crashes

Hi There,

Today there's been a release of a new version of Garmin Express. The existing version (4.1.16.0) quits with a note "Update Required. The new version contains critical updates". However the installer of the new version crashes immediately. It seems to be a loop where I can't either exit or continue using the existing version. The crash data:

    While the following FAQ is not the exact same issue you have posted here, I recommend using Microsoft Fixit to uninstall the Garmin Express 4.1.16.0 application and then install Garmin Express 4.1.19.0 from here.

    What should I do if the computer cannot find the .msi file when updating a Garmin Software Application?

    If this does not resolve the issue, contact Product Support by phone for further assistance.

    While the following FAQ is not the exact same issue you have posted here, I recommend using Microsoft Fixit to uninstall the Garmin Express 4.1.16.0 application and then install Garmin Express 4.1.19.0 from here.

    Hi Lisa!

    Thanks for the quick answer. I've followed the FAQ as well as your instructions. I uninstalled the previous version. Then... No luck. The new installer still crashes.

    (I tried other steps too. Cleaning registry, reinstall framworks etc. I don't want to bore anyone with the details.)

    Well, I might going to just collect the data on my watch and pull it on friends' computers occasionally. Until - hopefully - a new version comes out.

    We have no way of knowing if the next version will install properly or not so I recommend calling into Product Support by phone. They may be able to perform more in-depth troubleshooting for the installer.
