Forerunner 910xt does not sync

I have a Forerunner 910xt and one Mac and one PC with Garmin Express installed. Sometimes it is possible to sync new activities, but I have experienced that it sometimes does not sync new activities. It starts the sync, the Forerunner displays sync and it prompts sync complete. When opening Garmin Connect I cannot see any new activities.
How can I force a new activity download or download it manually from the watch?

I am sorry you are having trouble syncing the Forerunner 910XT. Unfortunately, you cannot force Garmin Express to upload to Connect. If Connect is not accepting the data, there is probably a reason. Since it said the sync was successful, most likely the Activities are on the computer. We can try manually uploading them, but there is a good chance some or all of the data is corrupt. Please try the following:
    • Sync your device with Garmin Express then close the program.
    • Press the Windows key + "R" to open the "Run" command. (The Windows key is two keys left of the spacebar.)
    • Type %programdata%\garmin\coreservice\devices and press "Enter".
    • Open the Unit ID folder for your device (it is a ten digit numbered folder).
    • Open the "Sync" folder.
    • Drag the "FIT_TYPE_4" folder from here to your desktop. You may have to grant permission to move it.
    • Sign into Garmin Connect.
    • Click "+" icon in top right corner of page.
    • Click "Upload Your Activities".
    • Click "Manual Upload" tab.
    • Open the "FIT_TYPE_4" folder and drag the files to the Connect window to upload them.
Files that fail to upload are corrupt unfortunately. This means those ones will be lost.

Now, we need to clear the corrupt data from the watch. To do this, we can Master Reset the Forerunner 910XT. Afterwards, you will need to remove the device from Garmin Express and re-add it. You will also need to set up any paired accessories with the device again. Please use the FAQ, "">How do I master reset my Forerunner 910XT?">How do I master reset my Forerunner 910XT?"

Now, any new Activities you record should upload.

    Hi!

I have tested your suggestions, but there is only a 1 KB file present in that directory. This cannot hold any information.
Are there any third party applications that can browse the Forerunner?
I did the sync at first on my Mac. It might be located on the Mac instead of the PC. Do you have any how to’s for Mac?

Our FAQ How do I remove FIT files that fail to sync in Garmin Express from my computer? provides the file location for both PC and Mac of where these files are.

While there is no way to force a file from Express to Connect, you may want to try a force send from the Forerunner 910XT to Express. Before doing so, I recommend deleting any files off the device that have already been uploaded to Connect. The fewer the files, the less time it will take for the force send to complete. This can be done on either a Mac or a PC.

How can I resend my history from my wireless ANT+ watch to my computer?
