I cant download my newly bought Nuvi Eurpe maps. IE shows nothing

Good Morning,

As per my user name, I am frustrated.

We spent a lot of money on buying some European maps for a trip to Europe.

Now when I'm on the Garmin website (on IE, come on really?????) and click on the "add to device" link it loads to a new window that blank of content and the Garmin website footer.

I find this truly unacceptable as the maps were advertised as a downloadable item, yet I cannot seem to "download" it. Also may i state that the whole process is complicated and stupid with no sense of logic to it.

The unfortunate scenario I find myself in now is that the departure for Europe is in a couple of hours and the map, which we spent a lot of money o, will now be useless even if you manage to fix this "download" function.

Truly unimpressed by Garmin.

  • Have you installed the Garmin Communicator plug in? Does that see your device?

    It's likely that the issue is with your system rather than at the Garmin end so you need to start there if you have time before your trip.

    I am sorry you are having trouble getting Europe maps for your device. I have looked on your account and the problem is you purchased a onetime map update for Europe (nuMaps Onetime City Navigator Europe NTU). You cannot update a map you don't already have. Since you cannot use this purchase, it will need to be refunded. Please contact ">Garmin Europe Product Support">Garmin Europe Product Support so they can submit the refund.

    If you want Europe maps on your nüvi® 2589LMT (South Africa) device, you need to buy the downloadable content for Europe (">City Navigator Europe NT">City Navigator Europe NT). Keep in mind, these maps can't be updated. Only a device that is pre-loaded with the Europe maps can use a map update for Europe.

    I am sorry for any confusion you had when purchasing maps.
