nüvi LMT 2517 and 2597: hands-free reactivates every now and then, why?

Hi,

first of all: why are there no suitable sub-forums for the Garmin nüvi series? This is quite unlogical, this is a Garmin forum, right? So please excuse for asking my nüvi related question here, but I am deeply disappointed wiht the software quality Garmin offers here.

I use two cars with two different nüvi devices here in Germany, a LMT 2517 (which seems to be a stripdown version of the 2597 offered only at certain places), and one LMT 2597, both working basically good, but ever since I own these two devices, I notice one very annoying behaviour: I use smartphone link in order to give these devices ability to access the Internet using mobile data from these Android phones the connect to, but intentionally disable the function for handsfree equipment, because my cars have that feature and suit that need better. So mobile data: yes, handsfree: no on the Garmin. not very difficult.

The problem is, that without reason, the Garmin devivces forget these settings, and reenable the handsfree function, stealing the connection from the cars built-in handsfree. This seems to be a known problem on the internet, you find many reports on the net about it - and Garmin seems to be constantly ignoring this issue. Why? Are your developers unable or unwilling to understand and change their own program code? So many updates have been released since I first saw this problem. and it was never solved! Why? Is that Garmins understanding of Software quality and customer support?
