Can't upload safety camera data

Hi.

I have just bought a safety camera subscription for my 2599LMT-D. However I cannot upload it to the device.
Instead of uploading via the Garmin Express app as I would expect, it uses some browser plugin which says it is no longer compatible with Firefox. So I tried Chrome - same result. So I tried Edge - same result.

So then I Googled and found that Garmin doesn't appear to support 64 bit Windows 10. I tried IE 11 as suggested, but the plug-in only works with the 32 bit version. So I appear to be stuck.

Why can't Garmin just manage updating Safety Camera information from the main Garmin Express application? Why use an obsolete plug-in to do this? TomTom's safety camera data is updated via a Windows app that works with Windows 10.

I am really cross about this. I have paid Garmin for a subscription and I have absolutely no way of applying it to my device.
What am I supposed to do?

Thanks.
  • Are you running the latest GCP? 64 bit support was included from v4.0.1 onwards and works fine with my IE11.

I am sorry you are having trouble downloading the Cyclops Safety Cameras and I am happy to help you. The Garmin Communicator Plugin does work in Internet Explorer (IE) 11. The message you are seeing is telling you to add Garmin to your Trusted Sites. However, to make the message go away, you must check the box that says "Stop Receiving This Notification". If you do not check the box, the message will keep popping up even if the issue is fixed. Once you add Garmin to the "Trusted Sites", you should be able to download the cameras.

We are working on a solution to no longer need the plugin. Unfortunately, we do not have an estimate for when this solution will become available.
