Hi, my turstworthy 3790 is in need of a map update. Have done this several time before with Garmin Express. But today, I get a Memory full, error when trying to download (Windows 10), to the device. Tried putting in a brand new 32 GB micro card (Sandisk), which shows up just fine in Explorer/File viewer - but no luck.. Says device is 97% full - any ideas ?

  • Remove the card and run Express, then wait until Express asks for the card.
  • And ... make sure the card is formatted FAT32

I am sorry you are having trouble updating the nuvi 3790 and I am happy to help. The suggested steps in the last two replies are good for getting Garmin Express to use the microSD card with map updates. However if there are software updates, these must go directly onto the device and not the memory card. In this case, we can free up a small amount of space by removing languages you don't use. Please feel free to use the following steps:
    • Connect the device to the computer.
    • Press the "Windows" + "E" keys on your keyboard to view the drives on the computer.
    • Open the Garmin/Nuvi drive.
    • Open the "Voice" folder.
    • Delete the extra voices you don't use.
    • You can repeat this process for the "Help", "Keyboard", and "Text" folders if you want. They won't free up as much space as the "Voice" folder does. Languages can also be abbreviated such as "en" for "English".

Let us know if you still have trouble.
