PC or mac don't recognize Edge 1000

Hi,

I have a big problem with my Edge 1000, my PC or my mac (I have both) don't see it. When I connect it with the garmin usb cable (the short one), it charges, but I can't see the device on my computer.
In conclusion, I can't do any update as I cannot see my edge 1000 in garmin express...

Any help would be very useful!

Thank you for your answer.
It worked with another cable, apparently the one furnished by garmin is only for charging???
