Not Detecting 810 and Strava not auto-syncing

So my garmin edge 810 sent my bike ride to garmin connect fine. But garmin connect isn't sending the ride to my strava. I go to plug in the 810 directly to my computer but Garmin Express won't detect it, even though I can see my 810 charging. I've tried restarting all devices, different usb ports and reinstalling garmin express. Nothing is working. The only thing that worked was exporting the activity file from the garmin connect website and manually uploading it to my strava. Everything used to work automatically just fine. My 920xt does this all flawlessly and is recognized by garmin express. Not sure what the issue is here. I know a lot of people have had similar problems to this but I haven't been able to find a solution that works for me. Any guesses?

    Also, my Garmin 810 software is 3.6. I cannot find a way to connect it to update to 5.0...

    I am sorry that you are having trouble. If the data isn't syncing between Connect and Strava, it is really not an issue with Garmin Express. However, the following FAQ might help: What should I do if my segment or activity data is not syncing between Garmin Connect and a third party website?

    If the device is not being detected by Garmin Express, please follow the instructions here:
    Why is my Garmin mass storage or MTP device not communicating with Garmin Windows applications?

    If you are still having trouble, it would be best to contact Product Support by phone.

    I've tried every USB port on my computer with multiple cords including the garmin cord with no luck... this sucks... I'll try my mac at home next. But my pc here is newish, it's worked before, and the garmin 810 is brand new as of christmas. Frustrating.

    I am sorry for the troubles. The first objective should be to get the computer to recognize the device when it is connected. If the first article did not resolve the issue, try the one below targeted toward fitness mass storage devices like the Edge 810.

    What can I do if my fitness mass storage device is not being recognized by the computer? https://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/case.faces?caseId={e9a42540-68cd-11e3-f27b-000000000000}

    If this does not resolve the issue I suggest you contact Product Support by phone.
