I tried to connect Forerunner 910XT (SW 2.80) to recent Garmin Express 4.1.16.0. It founds a device but it reports "The specified unit id is invalid". The only option is to cancel dialog. How to connect Forerunner to OS X? Thanks
I tried two other computers (OS X 10.11 and Windows 10) and connection does not work on either. I checked different LAN connections, ensured no proxy and firewall is active and results remain the same. I do not have any other idea what to do next.
Is this a replacement device? One that has been refurbished? Or is this your original device that you have had for awhile?
If the device is your original one that you have had for awhile, then the Forerunner 910XT is not reporting its Unit ID properly to Garmin Express. If it is a new device or one that has been refurbished, then it could be that the Unit ID is missing in our database. If that is the case, we will need the Serial number from your device and the Unit ID that is found when going to the About screen (MODE > Settings > About Forerunner). It would be best to call Product Support with this information.
If it is the original device, the device will need to be master reset in order to properly report the Unit ID to Garmin Express:
How do I master reset my Forerunner 910XT?
After the reset, the device should properly communicate the Unit ID to Garmin Express and can be added.
This is the original device that was unused for some time. I tried making a master reset successfully and left device on the open air for about 40 minutes. It synchronised with the satellites but when I tried to connect to Garmin Express the error message is still the same. Unfortunately the serial number sticker is lost from the device as it is a quite old. Is there any way making connection functional? The unit ID should be available in the database, I believe.

I am sorry for the troubles. I have requested that the UnitID be investigated but since these are recorded during production in Taiwan it could take quite a while to hear back from them. I will email as soon as I receive a response.
