I recently bought a Garmin DriveSmart 60 and plugged it into the computer right out of the box.Garmin Express said there was an update available, so I went ahead and started the update. The update got to 50% and I got the message "There was an error installing the update" Now all I have on the unit is basic maps. I tried taking down the firewall, using map install, I have even tried moving the file from the computer to the unit with no luck. any ideas before I call Garmin Monday
I am sorry for the map update stopping at 50%. According to your myGarmin account the 2017 map update unlocked so the download to your computer was complete. The final step is to send the updated files to the device, which is where the trouble is. Update Garmin Express to the latest version and make sure the device is connected to a USB port directly on the back or side of the computer. Avoid any external USB hubs or ports on the keyboard, monitors etc.. Use the FAQ below to run a check disk on the Garmin DriveSmart 60. After correcting any issues found, run the map update again.
