Garmin Express not working in Windows 10/VirtualBox :-(

hi!
On a PC with Linux Mint I've installed Windows 10 inside VirtualBox, and in it Garmin Express (it's for somebody who has a Garmin Vivofit and Linux on her machine). At first GE seemed to work ok, the usb ant too and there was no issue to synchronize the device. Then after a couple of times GE stopped to open, I've tried to unsintall it... first by left clicking and asking the os to uninstall, then using a specialized tool by Microsoft, then downloading and using something called Revo Uninstaller. After each uninstall I've downloaded and freshly installed the latest GE from Garmin site itself. It never works... :-(
I've tried to launch the application as admininstrator, but it doesn't work :-(
I've tried to open GE in Linux using Wine, but "of course" GE is one of that applications that don't like Wine... :-(
GE is the _only_ Windows application needed on this machine, it's crazy I can't make it work... and what puzzles me is the fact that it first worked, for a very short time, and then stopped and there's apparently no way to have it functioning again!
Any idea?
Also, on another machine with Linux and Windows 8 (but on 2 separare hd, and not in VirtualBox) GE is and has always been working without any issue...
Again: any idea to fix this issue (while waiting Garmin to release a Linux version of this application...)?
Many thanks :-)

I am sorry you are having trouble with Garmin Express. Using Garmin Express in a Linux environment through a virtual machine isn't supported. However, when this occurs on in Windows, it is often caused by a corrupt config file. To resolve this issue, try the steps in the FAQ Why does Garmin Express for Windows fail to launch when I run it?

If this doesn't solve the problem, I would recommend using a different computer that has Windows or OS X installed. It would be find to dual boot Windows/Linux but using a virtual machine can cause a variety of different problems.

many thanks Jason, I'll try to follow the instructions from your link, but clearly I'm not that optimistic, and on that machine I can't have (for several reasons) a dual boot system.
Again, thanks for your reply and sorry I'm answering only today (I was expecting to be notified of a reply but this hasn't happened, I didn't select something for sure).
And please release and open source, Linux friendly version of Garmin Express, I'm pretty sure that among the Garmin devices users Linux users are many more than in the general population ;-)

    best wishes
    thanks
