Unable to Upload New Course to 310XT

As of just recently, I am unable to upload any new course created with Garmin Connect to my 310XT.

Have tried a number of settings/variations, and though my device is seen in Garmin Express, I get the dreaded "There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect" if I try to upload a new course.
Device will sync new activities, and it's only new courses that won't upload.

I've tried deleting all activities from the watch, deleting old courses (even though watch is only at 7% memory use) restarting the watch, removing it from Garmin Express, updating/reinstalling Garmin Express and rebooting the computer.
Sync fails each time I try to upload any newly created course (Though it will add ones I previously had on the device if I delete and re-add them).

Watch is running 4.5 and Garmin Express is version 4.1.12.0

Any suggestions?

EDIT: Also tried deleting the FIT files as detailed here. (support.garmin.com/.../simpleCase.htm
